M.S: Hola, gracias por contestar a nuestras preguntas. ¿Cómo estás?
Toni: Bien, ¡gracias!
M.S: Como todavía no habéis tocado en España, ¿podríais presentaros a nuestros lectores? Dinos algo sobre cuándo y cómo se formó el grupo, vuestra situación actual y trabajo…
Toni: Nuestra historia se puede leer en nuestra página web, en MySpace, en Facebook. Pero es la misma vieja historia sobre unos amigos queriendo tocar algo de Metal :o) Ahora mismo estamos trabajando en nuestro tercer disco.
M.S: Si alguien quisiera recopilar información vuestra, ¿dónde podrían escucharos o comprar vuestros discos?
Toni: Además de nuestras páginas, tenemos reseñas de diferentes revistas, tanto conocidas como desconocidas, como Rockhard, Metal Hammer y Legacy. Youtube es también una buena referencia. Puedes comprarlos en diferentes tiendas y, por supuesto, a través de nuestra página web.
M.S: ¿Cómo se puso en contacto con vosotros la organización de MFVF? ¿Les enviasteis primero vuestro material?, u ¿os llamaron? Estoy seguro de que estáis más que orgullosos por participar en este festival que se celebra cada año, ¿verdad?
Toni: Fue André quién tuvo el primer contacto. De hecho, no sé cómo empezó todo esto. Lo más importante es que tocaremos y estamos esperándolo.
M.S: Hoy en día, ¿diríais que tener mujeres en un grupo de metal os deja en un segundo puesto respecto al resto de grupos de la escena del metal? Quiero decir, en el resto de los festivales de metal nos podemos encontrar sólo 2 ó 3 mujeres al frente de grupos. ¿Consideráis que MFVF es una buena forma, para grupos como el vuestro, de tener la oportunidad de tocar en grandes escenarios?
Toni: ¿Grupos como el nuestro? En primer lugar, yo estaba un poco enojado por la idea de hacer un festival “sólo para chicas”. Debería ser la música la que hiciese a la gente escoger a los grupos para su festival. La música y los grupos no deberían reducirse a quién está haciendo el qué. Sabemos que una cantante femenina extrema es todavía, de alguna manera, especial, pero hay muchos grupos con cantantes femeninas hoy en día y ya no es suficiente. Y, de hecho, estoy contento por ello. Porque eso nos da la oportunidad de ser “respetados” como un grupo al completo.
M.S: MFVF se caracteriza principalmente por contratar grupos de diferentes países para que vayan a tocar a Bélgica, ¿cómo es la escena del metal en vuestro país? ¿Recomendáis algunas bandas a nuestros lectores?
Toni: Podría hablar de los grupos que me gustan, pero supongo que mucha gente ya los conoce. Y hay muchos de los que me gustan que no son Metal 😛
El panorama del metal en Alemania es uno de los más grandes, por lo que a veces no es fácil conseguir actuaciones en las grandes ciudades, pero por otro lado, se pueden conseguir muchas en sitios pequeños y no está mal del todo.
M.S: Estaréis en la novena edición de MFVF, ¿qué grupos os gustaría ver?
Toni: Leaves’ Eyes, si estamos allí ese día (por mi parte sentimental) y Doro. Otro día sería Therion. Hay uno de estos grupos que conozco de hace mucho y me gusta esa movida clásica.
M.S: Con respecto a vuestra actuación, ¿qué se va a encontrar el público en el escenario?
Toni: Cerveza y vodka y muchos cables.
M.S: Supongo que vais a tocar canciones de vuestro primer disco “Forbidden Anger”, ¿qué nos podéis contar de él?
Toni: Muchas de las canciones son de ese disco (por cierto, es el segundo), pero también tenemos algo del primero. “Forbidden Anger”, comparado con el primer disco, es más dinámico y las canciones, en la mayoría de las veces, son más cortas. Nuestra manera de componer las canciones ha cambiado de forma natural durante los años, pienso. Pero sigue siendo Deathmetal y nunca lo abandonaremos.
M.S: ¿Qué le diríais a la gente que va a asistir al festival?
Toni: No sé qué decir a esa pregunta. Para que la gente quiera ir, el cartel habla por sí sólo y la impresión que tengo del festival es que hay gente que sabe lo que están haciendo, que es lo que a ambos, público y grupos, les gustará.
M.S: Después del festival, ¿Cuáles son vuestros proyectos más inmediatos?
Toni: Como he dicho, estamos trabajando en nuestro próximo disco y nos quedan algunas actuaciones este año.

Toni: Our history can be read on our homepage, myspace, Facebook. But it is the same old story about friends wanting to make some Metal. ;o) Right now we are in the middle of making our third album.
M.S: If someone wants to gather info about you, where could they listen to you or buy your albums?
Toni: Besides our pages we got reviews from different known and unknown magazines like Rockhard, Metal Hammer and Legacy. Youtube is also a good address. You can buy it in different stores and of course via our website.
M.S: How did the MFVF organization get in touch with you? Did you send them first your material? Or did they call you? I’m sure you’ll be more than proud participating in this festival which is held every year, right?
Toni: It was André who made first contact. Actually I don’t know how this started. It is most important THAT we will play and we are looking forward to that.
M.S: Nowadays, would you say that having women in a metal band leaves you in a second place concerning the rest of the bands in the metal scene? I mean, in the rest of the metal festivals you can find only 2 or 3 women fronted bands. Do you consider MFVF as a good way for bands like yours to have the chance to play in big venues?
Toni: Bands like us? Actually I was in the first place a little bit annoyed about making a festival "just for girls". It should be the music that make people choose the bands for their festival. Music and bands shouldn’t be reduced on who is doing what. We know that a female extreme singer is still somehow special but there are so many bands with female singers now that this isn’t enough anymore. And I am actually happy about that. Because that gives us the chance to be "respected" as a whole band.
M.S: MFVF is characterized mainly in hiring bands from so many different countries to come and play in Belgium, how’s the metal scene in your country? Would you recommend any bands for our readers?
Toni: I could talk about the bands I like but I guess most people know them already. And there is a lot I like that is not Metal 😛
The metalcene in Germany is one of the biggest so it is sometimes not that easy to get shows in the big cities but on the other hand you can get a lot of shows in smaller places and that is not bad at all.
M.S: You’ll be at the nine edition of MFVF, which bands would you like to see?
toni: Leaves Eyes if we were there that day (for the sentimental part of me) and Doro. the other day it would be Therion. There are one of these bands I know really long time and I like that classic stuff.
M.S: Concerning your show, what can the audience find on stage?
toni: Beer and Vodka and a lot of cables.
M.S: I guess you are playing tracks from your first album “Forbidden Anger”, what could you tell us about it?
Toni: Most of the songs are from that album (by the way, it is the second one) but we also have something from the first one. Forbidden Anger is compared to the first album more dynamic and the songs are most times shorter. Our way of making the songs changed during the years in a natural way I think. But it is still Deathmetal and we won’t give up on that.
M.S: What would you say people to attend the festival?
Toni: I am not quite sure about that question. To make them come the billing stands for itself and my impression of the festival so far is that there are people who knows what they are doing what both audience and bands will like.
M.S: After the festival, which are your more immediate projects?
Toni: As I mentioned we are working on our next album and have some shows left this year.
